Great success for ARCHMARATHON 2015 Arab and Mediterranean countries Special Edition
Over 3,800 visiting professionals attended the ARCHMARATHON 2015 Arab and Mediterranean countries Special Edition. The event which was organized by Publicomm in collaboration with FLE (Federation of Arab Engineers) and which was held from the 8th to the 10th October 2015 at the BIEL Centre in Beirut, turned Beirut into the world capital of architecture.
The ARCHMARATHON for Arab and Mediterranean Countries event ended on Saturday October 10th.
Three intensive days of international exchanges of ideas, know-how and relationships in a cultural context at the highest level which saw a record number of over 2,200 guests right from the start.
42 studios, selected over recent months and representing a good 15 countries, presented their own projects carefully chosen from among the most significant in the world of international architecture over the last five years. These were divided into 9 categories : Arts & Culture; Education Buildings; Workspaces; Religious Buildings; Hotel & Leisure; Private Housing; Mixed Tenure Housing and Buildings; Transport; Landscape & Public Spaces.
The jury, chaired by LUCA MOLINARI, featuring representatives from the main institutional organizations that support Archmarathon: OAA – RASEM BADRAN, UMAR – FABIEN LLISTERRI, UIA – FREDERIC RAGOT as well as internationally famous architects and critics such as BERNARD KHOURY, NADIM KARAM, PELIN DERVIŞ, HASSAN RADOINE and GEORGE KATODRYTIS, awarded the following prizes before an audience of over 1,000 people.

The event was an important cultural encounter which through constructive dialogue, highlighted the architecture of the Mediterranean and Arab world, triggering a virtuous debate on diversity as a tool for social growth and a real opportunity for the future.
The next edition of ARCHMARATHON will be held in Milan in May 2016.
